What you get
A website that does its job, and keeps doing it.
Built for the people looking for you, the search engines sending them, and the AI assistants answering their questions.
Security, done properly
- Fast, secure hosting, with HTTPS and security headers on every page.
- A static site with no plugins to patch and no public admin login.
- Your owner space sits behind a private sign-in: a one-time code to your email.
- Daily uptime and security checks once you're live.
Found in search
- A page for each service, with a written title, description and headings.
- Structured data, so Google understands your business, services and location.
- Your business name, phone number and address the same everywhere.
- A sitemap, redirects from your old pages, and Search Console and Bing set up.
Ready for AI search
- AI crawlers are welcomed, not blocked by accident.
- Pages built on the server, so assistants that don't run JavaScript still read everything.
- An llms.txt summary, generated from the same content as the pages so it never drifts.
- A monthly check of whether the main AI assistants mention your site.
Your owner space
- Change your prices, hours, contact details, questions and announcement banner yourself.
- Write and publish articles from your phone.
- See how your site is doing, in plain words.
- I check each change so it doesn't hurt your search results, then publish it.
The Design Studio
- Make gift vouchers, flyers, posters, price lists and social posts.
- Your colours, fonts and logo built in, with ready-made templates.
- Runs in your browser: nothing to install, nothing you make is sent anywhere.
- There if you want it. Plenty of owners never touch it.
Measured
- Google Analytics in your own account, counting the clicks that matter: bookings, calls, directions.
- I track your figures, so you don't have to send them to me.
Selling online, without becoming a shop
If you sell, your platform keeps the products, payments and orders, in your own account. Your website shows them well, gets them found, and sends buyers to the platform's checkout.
- Square: buy buttons or product pages from your Square items, no monthly fee.
- Shopify: product pages on your own domain, with Shopify's cart and checkout.
- Etsy: your listings shown on your site, linking to Etsy.
After launch
30 days of care are included. If anything is broken or not as agreed in the first 30 days, I fix it at no cost.
After that, the optional care plan is $75 a year, about $6.25 a month. The biggest part of it is something most small businesses never get: someone watching for security problems on their behalf.
A security watch on your website
- Every new vulnerability, checked within 24 hours. When a security flaw is published that could affect websites, domains and DNS, content systems, hosting or the code your site is built with, I check it against your site within 24 hours of it being made public, using a professional cyber threat intelligence feed.
- If it affects your site and it's mine to fix, I prepare the fix, test it, put it live, and tell you in plain English what I did.
- If it's something outside what I look after, such as your email provider, a booking system or your domain company, I tell you exactly who to contact, what to ask them and what to check afterwards.
- A monthly security summary. How many vulnerabilities were checked that month, and confirmation your site wasn't exposed. You won't get an "all clear" email every time, so when I do email you about a real problem, it stands out.
I've seen too many small businesses paying for hosting while nobody watches the software underneath.
And the everyday care
- Hosting support, security and uptime checks, and software updates.
- Your owner space, including articles and how your site is doing.
- Small changes you send from your owner space, checked and published.
- Help with other small jobs, such as a new photo, a small new section or advice, as set out in your agreement.
For comparison: the care plans I looked at in October 2026 run from about $97 to $159 a month plus GST, some on top of hosting. Mine is $75 a year, and there's no hosting bill.
New pages, new features, managing your Google listing, social media or ads are quoted separately.
What a build costs
Every build is a fixed quote, agreed before work starts. Rebuilding a website you already have is $990; a new website for a business that doesn't have one yet, with the words written together, is $1,490. No GST is added. Hosting is on Cloudflare's free plan, in your own account, so there's no hosting bill; you keep paying for your domain as you do now.
When the standard build isn't the right fit. Some websites are better kept where they are, such as a shop that runs on Square or Shopify, or need something the standard build doesn't do. Then I'll say so after the free check, and quote the work that fits: improving the site you have, or a more tailored build. It's still a fixed quote, agreed before work starts, with no surprises.
How that compares
What small businesses usually pay for a website, from published prices and Australian price guides in October 2026.
| The usual options | Up front | Every year after | Over three years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself on Squarespace, Wix or ShopifyPlus your time to build and keep it up. The site stays on their platform; leaving means starting again. | $0 | About $340 to $500 in plan fees | About $1,000 to $1,500 |
| A website subscription ("$0 up front")Often a 12-month minimum, and some don't hand over the site until you've paid for two years. | $0 to $500 | $99 to $250 a month | About $3,600 to $9,000 |
| A web designer or agencyRegional small-business builds. Hosting or a care plan usually comes on top, and many prices are plus GST. | $2,000 to $6,000, agencies from about $7,500 | Hosting $200 to $600; care plans $600 to $1,800 | About $2,600 to $13,000 |
| Cam McCollum WebsitesEverything in your name from day one. Nothing to hand back if you leave. | $990 to rebuild your site, $1,490 for a new one | $0 hosting; the care plan, with its security watch, is optional at $75 a year | $990 to $1,490 plus your domain, or with the care plan $1,140 to $1,640 |
Also included that's usually charged separately: a website check before you commit (a basic audit is often $500 to $1,500), and the search set-up at launch, with Google Analytics, Search Console, Bing and structured data (often $1,000 to $3,000 as a one-off).
