Website security and maintenance
Someone watching your website, so you don't have to.
Cyber security is my day job. I look after small businesses' and community groups' websites the same way: checked against every new threat, fixed and tested, and explained in plain English.
Is anyone maintaining your website?
A new photo or a news post isn't maintenance. What matters is the software underneath, the server it runs on, and the domain and email settings around it. Too many small businesses pay for hosting while nobody watches any of that.
The free website check looks at your site from the outside, the way attackers, Google and AI assistants see it: HTTPS and security headers, email protection, the software your site runs on and whether it still gets security fixes, and whether your domain and email settings are being looked after. You get the findings in plain English, and an honest view on what to do, including when the right answer is to stay where you are.
The care plan: a security watch on your website
- Every new vulnerability, checked within 24 hours. When a security flaw is published that could affect websites, domains and DNS, content systems, hosting or the code your site is built with, I check it against your site within 24 hours, using a professional cyber threat intelligence feed.
- Fixed, tested and put live. If it affects your site and it's mine to fix, I prepare the fix, test it, put it live, and tell you what I did.
- Clear next steps for everything else. If it's your email provider, a booking system or your domain company, I tell you exactly who to contact, what to ask and what to check afterwards.
- A monthly security summary. What was checked that month, and confirmation your site wasn't exposed.
- The everyday care. Uptime and security checks, software updates, small changes from your owner space, and help with small jobs.
The care plan is $75 a year, with no hosting bill. For comparison, the care plans I looked at in October 2026 ran from about $97 to $159 a month plus GST. It's for sites built or rebuilt in your own accounts: the web design page explains how that works, and the first 30 days of care come with every build.
Built secure in the first place
The sites I build are static: no plugins to patch, no public admin login and no passwords to leak. Your owner space sits behind a one-time code sent to your email. That's why the care plan can cost what it does: there's far less to go wrong.
Common questions
Isn't my web host already doing this?
Usually not. Hosting keeps a server running; it rarely covers checking the software your site is built with, its plugins, or your domain and email settings. The free check tells you where your site stands.
What does the care plan cost?
$75 a year, with no hosting bill on top. The first 30 days after launch are included with every build.
How quickly are new threats checked?
Within 24 hours of a new vulnerability being made public, using a professional cyber threat intelligence feed.
What if the problem is with my email provider or booking system?
I tell you exactly who to contact, what to ask them and what to check afterwards.
