Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
Cam McCollum is the trading name of Cameron McCollum, a sole trader (ABN 20 204 677 907). This policy explains what information I collect when I build and look after websites, why, and how it is protected. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What I collect
- Contact details for you and the people you nominate: names, email addresses, phone numbers and business addresses.
- Project information you give me: answers, approvals, comments, text and photos for your website, including anything you enter in the review portal.
- Billing records: quotes, invoices and payments, which I must keep for tax purposes.
- Website performance data for sites I look after, described below.
Google Analytics and Search Console data
When you share your Google Analytics or Google Search Console with me (by adding the Google account I give you when we start working together), my office software reads that data with read-only access. I use it for one purpose: to check that I am delivering on what I promised you. That means measuring your site's visitors, search visibility, enquiries and bookings against the goals we agreed, finding what to fix or improve, and reporting the results to you.
- Only aggregate figures are read (for example visits, page views, search clicks, search terms and pages indexed). Google does not give me the identity of your visitors, and I do not try to identify them.
- The access is read-only. My software cannot change your Google settings or data.
- Your data is never sold, shared with other clients, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
- My use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- You can withdraw access at any time by removing that account from your Google property. On request I delete the figures I have stored for your site, apart from anything I must keep by law.
This website
cammccollum.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and which pages are read, so I can see whether the site is useful. It records no names or contact details, IP addresses are anonymised, and nothing is used for advertising. The only other thing it notes is when someone clicks the email link.
How information is used
Only to build, run and improve your website, to communicate with you about it, and to quote, invoice and keep business records. I do not send marketing email.
Where it is kept and who can see it
- Your review portal and my office software sit behind Cloudflare Access sign-in. Only you (for your own project) and I can get in.
- Email is handled by Proton Mail. Websites are hosted in your own accounts (for example Cloudflare).
- I do not disclose your information to anyone else unless you ask me to, or the law requires it. My accountant sees billing records.
How long it is kept
Project and performance information is kept while I look after your site and for up to 12 months after, then deleted. Billing records are kept for five years, as Australian tax law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you. If you have a concern about how it has been handled, email me and I will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
